I learned this morning that ‘one of those little candy canes only has 10 calories’. I think this was an important thing for me to learn, and now it makes me want one. Or 10. I’ve also learned that 10 of them only have 100 calories.
And don’t forget, I’m giving away books for Christmas, and I’m not the only one offering prizes!
I had an idea for a short story a couple of days ago. It was inspired by a quote for this month’s Writing.com site contest. But the more I started thinking about it, the more I wondered if it wasn’t such a great idea. As the idea kind of morphed in my head, it became a modern retelling of the Greek myth of Prometheus. Which I thought would be perfect for a ‘Greek Myths Revisted’ anthology I saw. Which apparently closed to submissions already. Which kind of sucks.
But I shared the idea with Sweetie, and she said it’s a good idea, which made me really happy because it’s been a while since I’ve heard that. So maybe I’ll finish writing my Prometheus story today, and try after to find a venue for it ^_^
What’s your favorite holiday (any of them) candy?
Did you know that they actually have 10,000 per candy cane. What we know as “calories” are actually kilocalories. But that also means the daily recommended amount is given in kilocalories as well. The smaller numbers are just easier to deal with. And yes, that is what happens when I take a nutrition class, I force what I’ve learned on others.
My grandma would make peanut butter balls covered in chocolate. I made them last year since she’s in Utah and I’m not, they were a big hit here too. So good. I don’t know the kcal count on them and don’t want to know. 😉
