I have the day off today. It’s partly to celebrate this Hallmark created holiday, and partly because, well…I really really needed some time off (this is my first real vacation from work in over two years), and my paid vacation kicked in at work this month.
So what better way to celebrate two grand occasions than participating in a sexy blogfest – the Just Kiss Already Blogfest
Very little background here – this is from my WIP Serious Game 2.0. What came before? Lots of stuff. But most important, myNo Kiss Blogfest entry from early 2011. (I thought about not posting this, because it’s kind of spoiler-y, but it’s also not the central plot of the books, so I’ve decided it’s okay ^_^):
She flipped the deadbolt off and opened the door enough to let Zach in. She didn’t know what to say. They had covered it all when he’d left.
He took the silent offer and stepped inside, kicking the door shut behind him. His hands rested on either side of her face and kissed her. There was hunger in his lips. It stole her breath as he held her close, and she gasped when he pulled away. He studied her, blue eyes frantic.
She didn’t know what else to do. She kissed him back, leaning into him. The sensations set her nerve endings on fire and she stumbled back, pulling him with her. She hit the arm of the couch and lost her balance, stumbling back.
He laughed and knelt over her, brushing a loose strand of hair out of her eyes. “I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t want to wake you up, but I was praying it was the same for you.”
“What are we doing?”
He shook his head. “Not talking. For God’s sake we’ve done enough of that.” He leaned forward, lips brushing her collarbone and tracing a line up her neck. “We can hash it all out in the morning, I promise. But I want you so bad right now, and even if you made me talk I’d tell you whatever you wanted to hear to have you.”
She arched her back and moaned as his lips roamed her skin. “Yeah. Later is good for me too.”
He shook his head. “Not talking. For God’s sake we’ve done enough of that.”
Love a man who takes action. Yummy!
Ah… is there more? I’m left hanging here… seriously, great scene. The means business kiss. Love those. Gonna go get me one today.
Nicely done. It does have a heat element to the kiss and gets right to the point for this blogfest. I like the characters and where this story is heading. I will be a little nitpicky cause I know you can handle it. I was a little confused on the couch part.
When she stumbled back from hitting the arm of the couch I wasn’t sure if she had just stumbled, if she had fallen onto the couch, and I almost expected him to try and catch her. From there I guess she is lying on the couch but did she fall over the arm of the couch as that is a little awkward but is a detail that if happened could be used at the end as it steams up a bit.
Great entry for the blogfest. Yay for kissing! *winks*
great kiss!
Sexy!
“Not talking. For God’s sake we’ve done enough of that.”
That made me smile.
“even if you made me talk I’d tell you whatever you wanted to hear to have you.” WOW! I loved this scene – very hot.
” “Not talking. For God’s sake we’ve done enough of that.” <-- my favourite line!!! Nice excerpt, love the been-there-done-that attittude of both your MCs here.
I like the undercurrent of danger mixed with the sexy kiss. Nice work.
P.S. If you are the same Loralie Hall that entered my “Contest to End the Winter Blues” – you’ve won the tote bag o’books : )
This is great! I really felt that so much had happened leading them to this point – wonderful kiss!
Great kiss scene. I love it!
Oh, GOODNESS. This kiss is going places and fast! I certainly would want to know what happened next while they were not talking!
HA! I love the fact that he straight up admits he’d be willing to say whatever he had to in order to be with her. At least he’s honest!
@Tanya – lol, there is definitely more after. I had to trim a lot to come in under 250 words 😀
@Dawn – you’re totally right.
@Everyone – thank you for dropping by and I’m so glad you all enjoyed it. This is one of my favorite couples ever so…I love their love scenes.
