I’m a bit bleary-eyed while I write this, even though it’s eight-thirty in the morning and I’m usually up by six. But we were up late talking last night. Something I haven’t done in a very long time. It’s the last weekday of my time off from work and it’s been a huge roller coaster of a week.
Thank you to everyone who commented on my blogfest entry yesterday ^_^ You were all amazingly kind and I’m sorry I haven’t made it to everyone’s posts yet. I will, a day late, but I will. I’ve already seen some great takes on the prompt and am looking forward to lots more.
I discovered that indoctrination from my last job makes me miserable on vacation…I dread how much trouble I’m going to be in when I get back. Awesome thing about this? Well, one I’ve recognized it and that made it go away. and Two, one of my characters is about to suffer from this unfortunate ailment. It won’t be Scott, we finally have an understanding. It will probably be Rae.
Also, I discovered that I’m very picky about my urban fantasy, and that ‘Personal Demons’ by Lisa Desrochers is completely epic and intense and amazing and restored my faith in writing. The tiny unfortunate thing was I got about halfway through and realized that a manuscript I read for someone in December is an almost identical plot. No, really. But I suppose it’s heard to completely eliminate certain things from our minds when we write. Especially if it was a good story.
Lastly and most very importantly, today is my Sweetie’s birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AY!). So I’m going to go figure out what kind of cake we’re having and probably start on something epic for breakfast.
