It’s a little late in the day for a blog post, and it’s a shame because earlier today I had this wicked guest post in mind from my brand-newest character Karen. She’s a little different than the other women I’ve written, but still entertaining.
But she doesn’t want me in her head right now. So instead, a wicked video from The Offspring, ‘Want You Bad’ (and, the theme song for the relationship between two of my other characters, Zach and Rae)
Do you have a favorite wicked character in your own writing or someone else’s?
Offspring, yay!
Good topic. I’m not sure if I have any “wicked” characters. In the epic fantasy the villain isn’t so much wicked as he is misguided. Might need to work on having a wicked character at some point.
The one I really remember is in the YA book, Of Two Minds. It’s really cool because the “wicked” villain is actually a version of the heroine that she made up in her mind in the world she created. It’s kind of a cool concept. Really liked the first book in that series for that reason.
I can appreciate how your character does not want you in her head right now. They truly do take on lives of their own. It’s incredible.
Wicked characters? I have a mean girl in my first YA novel named Trina. Not sure she is wicked, though. Most of my characters are average Janes and Joes faced with challenging circumstances.
