I really need to figure out where y’all get your pretty images for your blogs. I know how to insert them, just not where to find them πŸ˜› Anyway…today is happy spam day. That’s like Friday, but frosted with awesomeness, and rocking like Pop Rocks. Okay, I’m done with the hyperbole…for now.

What am I going on about? August 2010 Skive Magazine. My story is in there: Daybreak by Loralie Hall. This isn’t the first short story I’ve ever had accepted, nor is it the first for a print anthology, but none of the other anthologies have been printed yet, so this is the first tangible one.

Of course, I have to pay tribute to the brilliance of the editor. By publishing us, he’s guaranteed himself probably at least one sale for each author – great way to sell magazines. But I don’t care about that – I get to see my name in print. I get to touch it and feel it and hold it and get my fingerprints all over it.

This is what makes all worth while. The work, the pain of having to butcher a baby of a story through rewrites, the anguish of trying to find a publisher or an agent…this is where it all pays off.
